Accessorial Charge Matrix

Accessorial Charge & Fee's Description
Drop Containers
90% if line haul + FSC
Containers that are dropped require 48 hours or 2 work days from time of empty notification to be picked up. Chassis days and other fees will apply. Weekends are not considered working days. (Notification after 1400, following day considered day of notification.)
Storage (rail or yard)
Actual cost assessed by storage facility plus 2% administrative fee. (See origin per diem calendar for exceptions)
Charges accrue per day until delivery is complete and container ingates. Any fraction of a day is charged in full. If dropped, customer is responsible for notifying JDSB when container is available for pick up 24 hours in advance. (Notification after 1400, following day considered day of notification.)
Pre Pull/ Storage
$100 -Pre Pull charge Day of Pull- No storage Charge After day of pull $35 Per Day $50 per day reefer.
This charge may be applied to early next day or Monday unload appointments or a pre pull that is requested in advance from customer. Customer is responsible for notifying JDSB when container is available 24-hours in advance. (Notification after 1400, following day is considered notification)
Chassis Fee / Day
$35 per calendar day $75 per calendar day for tri-axle $95 per calender day for Quard Axles (2 Day Minimum)
Cost of chassis per day including weekends and holidays.
Flips
$25 + terminal operator charges at actual cost and applicable driver detention.
Applies when Container must be flipped from one Chassis to another.
Driver Detention/ Power Unit
$75 per hour At Shipper/ Receiver 2 hours free. 1 hour free at terminals, yard, or customs (billed in 15 min increments)
Free time begins when container/trailer is available for loading or unloading and ends when the container/trailer is released after loading or unloading. If appointment is first-come, first-served, free time begins when the trailer/container arrives at customer’s facility, or when the facility opens for business, whichever is later. Or time begins when power unit in-gates and ends when power unit out gates terminal, yard, or customs facility
Single Scale Charge
$75 (+$2 per mile for out of route miles )
Request for driver to scale either empty or loaded
Scale Light and Heavy
$125 (+$2 per mile for out of route miles)
Request for driver to scale both empty or loaded
Stop off Charge
1st stop $150 2nd stop $250 3rd stop $375 (+$2.5 per mile for out of route miles)
Additional charges for stops at origin or destination outside of the standard door to door request
Lumper
$25 administration fee + cost
We reserve the right to engage helpers at Customer’s expense to assist the driver in loading or unloading the shipment when any of the following conditions apply: (1) the piece count exceeds 1,000 pieces, (2) the individual pieces weigh more than 70 pounds, (3) the total shipment weight exceeds 45,000 pounds or (4) sorting of cargo is required, in addition to loading or unloading
Driver Assist
$120 per hour (minimum one hour). Billed in 15 min increments thereafter
Any labor required for driver to assist in loading/unloading of container. Driver detention may also apply.
Driver Count
$60 per hour (minimum one hour). Billed in 15 min increments thereafter
Shipper request for count of freight for verification.
Driver Wash Out
$120 + cost of wash out
Driver required to wash out container.
Driver Sweep
$50 flat fee
Driver required to sweep container
Driver Dunnage Disposal
$150 flat fee
Driver required to remove and dispose of dunnage or other non-hazardous material.
Driver Shunting
$35 per occurrence
Driver required to unhook from trailing equipment and hook to another container for repositioning.
Re-consignment
$150 in addition to recalculated drayage
Change of consignee upon arrival at destination ramp.
Redelivery
$150 (+$2 per mile for out of route miles)
When driver, through no fault of carrier, is unable to deliver at scheduled appointment.
Expedited Delivery
$75 for local $175 for OTR (greater than 300 miles)
Applies when Customer requests delivery on same day as DoA notification.
Appointment Cancellation
$100 per occurrence.
Applies when Customer cancels appointment without rebooking.
Night Delivery
$75 per delivery
May be applicable in certain markets
Layover
$250 Weekday/ Night $475 Weekend/ Night
Driver required to layover at loading or unloading. After 10 hours billable detention time.
Equipment Ordered Not Used
$250 + cost of origin drayage
Loads that are not cancelled 24 hours prior to pick up. This will be applicable to dry runs at origin as well.
 Hazardous Material

Mis-declared Charge
$4000 + all charges declared by rail line
Customer moves hazardous, restricted or prohibited commodities as a general freight commodity.
Overweight
$125 + any additional cost from fines, permit costs rework, scale, etc.
Load exceeds D.O.T vehicle weight limits via axle (steers 12,000lbs, drives 34,000lbs, tandems 34,000lbs) or via gross weight (80,000lbs). JDSB can offer to facilitate correction with re-work facility or customer can work with its own facility direct. If overweight after reworked an additional overweight fee will apply.
Permit Fees
Cost of permit + $25 Admin Fee
Each state, county, and municipality has their own fee’s. There can be multiple permits per trip depeneding on origin and destination
Transload / Rework
Cost of service + 10%
When JDSB facilitates a transload or rework due to multiple circumstances.
Misuse Charge
$400 +applicable per diem
Equipment spotted at a shipper/consignee and used by another carrier without permission.
Bob Tail
$2.50 per mile $75.00 minimum
Applies if unloaded power unit travels to another location to be available to move a shipment
No Rail Billing
$65 per hour Billed in 15 minute increments
Applies when driver must wait because rail billing for the shipment has not been provided to railroad by the time the shipment arrives at the rail ramp
Refrigerated Equipment
$150 per shipment
Need for temperature protection should be noted in advance. We are not liable for any loss, damage or destruction to cargo requiring protection from heat or cold caused by failure of the temperature controlled equipment or protective services or for any maintenance, inspection, refueling, or other protective services involving such equipment.
Split Container/Chassis Fee
$65 per container or chassis
Applies when pick up or termination of chassis/container to a location other than the shipment delivery location is required. Some exceptions may apply, check with Terminal Manager for specifics.
Shipment Changes
$25 for each approved changes in the origin or destination
After the driver has been dispatched, any changes to the origin or destination stated on the prenote must be approved by us. We will endeavor to comply with the requested change in circumstances where it
Customs Inspections
$300 Flat fee + detention, fees, and Chassis
per stop at authorized a CES location
Shipment Cancellation
$50 per cancellation
Applies when less than 24 hours notice. Dry run charges may apply if the shipment has already been dispatched or the empty
